Empowering Single Mothers’ Project
This special, fully washed lot from the Southern Province of Rwanda is sourced from the Abateraninkunga Ba Sholi (“Mutual Assistance”) cooperative, a Cup of Excellence winning co-op founded by women. This particular project champions 80 young single mothers (ages 18–25), offering them a pathway out of stigma and isolation through coffee farming. The mothers are provided with training, land, and resources to build stable, women-led futures for themselves and their children. Grown at high altitudes (1800–2000 masl) in volcanic, fruit-diverse soil, this Bourbon variety coffee is meticulously processed with density grading and drying on raised beds. FLO Fairtrade Certified, this coffee represents dignity, belonging, and powerful community investment.
